E365-January 16, 2010

Beth is guest blogging on my 365 today, I hope to and intend to do my pic later today, but may get busy as I am off to play with my crazy New Hampshire sistah!

Beth took this pic today of Clara and I.  It was extremely dangerous for me, but I did escape with my face, arms, and collar bone intact, and Beth came out of it with a GREAT photo!

Now for my pic:

Two pics in one, and I’m breaking my “Only taken that day” rule, though these were both taken by me.

Chang and Shelby.  Those who know me also know these two girls very well.  In their own way, they touched hundreds of lives.  They are deeply connected to each other and to my family, both blood and extended/adopted.

My closest of friends today came to visit.  Rob is a special and sweet girl.  Her heart is pure, her soul is sweet.  She doesn’t feel very good about herself much of the time and is sad a lot, but when she comes to hang out with me, she is happy, she laughs, and plays, and we chat.  We both love kitties, and horses, and all kinds of animals.  She feels energetic connections deeply to animals, both Shelby and Chang meant tremendous a lot to her

Old pics, but, in true blog fashion, I want to tell a story.

Rob knew Shelby from long ago.  Shelby loved her so much.  In the later years, Shelby knew Rob would come looking for her.  The cat took to napping on our bed all day and wouldn’t come out because she knew any exercise  on her part was unnecesary.

The conversation always went as such:

Rob, looking:”Where’s my girl?”

Craning her head around: “”Where is she?”

Rob starts up the stairs: “I know she’s here!”

Rob comes down the hall, and peeks into our bedroom: “Where’s my girl?”

Shelby, who was napping, has picked her head up and yawned, now blinks, waiting for Rob to come see her. One paw that was tucked under is now stretched in front of her.

Rob, big smile: “There she is!  There’s my girl!”

She comes over, gently and quietly, “Do you have a kitty purr for me today?”

Shelby blinky kisses Rob with her eyes, and starts the purr.  Rob smiles and pets her head gently, “Aw, there’s the motor.  I love your kitty motor.”  Scratching her chin softly, she leans near Shelby and rubs her cheek on Shel’s fur, “Oh, so soft.  And you have your black eyeliner on, today too!”  Shelby’s eyes had black skin rimmed around, so she always looked like she was wearing eyeliner.

Shelby would soak up whatever anyone, especially Rob, was willing to offer.  It was her way.
